The are on again, because apparently the beach wasn't enough of a draw. They happen every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 9pm, right along the foreshore of the tourist strip. It's free, it's family friendly, and it's been going since 1995, which is before most of the shops there were even built. You get over a hundred stalls, local people making things while you watch them, and live music that may or may not distract you from the ocean breeze. The whole thing is a twilight market, meaning it happens all year round, rain or shine, unless there's a cyclone, in which case maybe give it a miss.

Getting there is your own problem, but they suggest public transport or walking. Parking is limited, so if you do drive you'll need the EasyPark app to pay for metered spots or risk a fine. Check the City of Gold Coast's parking page if you really want to know the details. Otherwise, just wander along the foreshore, inhale the salty air, and try not to fight a seagull for your homemade dessert. There are hand made clothes, accessories, and personalised treasures, so whether you're a local or just visiting, you'll probably find something you didn't know you needed.
