If you happen to be a senior or a baby boomer with a free afternoon on Thursday 25 June 2026, the Gold Coast Seniors Health & Lifestyle Expo is rolling into Southport. It is one of those events where you can wander around and accidentally learn a bunch of useful things. Expect to find retirement living options, in home care providers, financial planners who may or may not recommend you buy a tiny house, and that one stall where someone will try to sell you funeral services years before you actually need them. There will also be free hearing and eyesight checks which is handy because you might finally find out why you have been squinting at road signs. Centrelink and the City of Gold Coast will be there, along with mobility aids and travel deals for those who want to see the world before the world starts seeing them under a magnifying glass.

Best of all, entry is free and there is a free sausage sizzle, which means you can stand around eating a snag on bread while contemplating investment advice. Parking may be tight, so either catch a bus or use the EasyPark app to avoid a fine that would ruin your entire retirement budget.
