Located at Coomera (35 Beattie Rd, Coomera QLD) and Miami (80 Pacific Ave, Miami QLD), the Gold Coast Gymnastics Club is one of the largest clubs in Australia with approximately 3000 gymnasts registered with Gymnastics Australia. Having said this, it is also a place where kids of all ages convene to get fit, meet friends, and have an immense amount of fun. During the school holidays, structured gymnastic training takes a break and instead, three and six-hour holiday camps are run including crafts, games, movies and of course, gymnastics.


My girls aged five and seven have participated in a number of these holiday camps and love them. One of my girls is a budding gymnast. My other daughter is not so much a gymnast but instead a child who thrives on being busy. Both of them enjoy the holiday camp program. This Easter holidays you can enrol your child (must be five years and over) in either the 9 am to 12 pm or 9 am to 3 pm programs on April 3rd to the 6th or April 11th to the 14th. The camps are run at both the Coomera and Miami locations.

The trainers are all quite young so the club has a vibrancy and youth about it that converts into a lot of energy. When my kids came home after attending the last set of gymnastic holiday programs, they slept incredibly well. They were exhausted yet happily so. I was pleased to see them so physically challenged as we all want our kids to move more these days. I made the mistake when I first started enrolling my girls by booking the half-day program. This caused a fuss when I went to collect them as they didn't want to leave. Take a leaf out of my book and go with the full-day program.

The cost of the three-hour program is $40 or $60 for the full day. The club accepts the Fairplay Recreational Vouchers from families who are eligible. Kids need morning tea, a packed lunch (no nuts), and a water bottle. All else is provided. It is important you book early to avoid disappointment so please call 07 5572 3619 with your preferred days. Alternatively, you can use the Online Portal to make your booking.

Perhaps once school returns, your child might then wish to enrol in their structured and graded gymnastics program. My seven-year-old is enrolled and loves it. You are welcome to utilise the free trial session to test whether your little one will like it. Just note, it is a very popular club and you may have to access the waiting list until a spot becomes available.
