Head out to Tallebudgera Valley for a laid-back wander through the bush on 30 September 2025, right in the Gold Coast area. You'll be splashing around in the creek's clear waters, poking around for whatever odd bits and bobs the current has left behind, while keeping an eye out for those quirky water bugs that keep the whole watery ecosystem ticking along without much fuss. There's a chance to try your hand at mixing up some ochre the old-school way, just like the First Nations folks did, and if you're feeling inventive, you can rig up a rope swing or two to see how steady you really are on your feet. Oh, and don't forget to scan the surroundings for any local critters popping by, because nothing says nature immersion like a surprise wallaby sighting.
For getting there, think about hopping on public transport or pedalling over if you're up for it, and the Translink journey planner can sort out the details without the hassle. Parking spots might be thin on the ground, so if you drive, grab the EasyPark app to handle your meter from your phone and dodge any fines. More parking tips are on the City of Gold Coast website if you need them.
